Location & Area
The delightful little town of Ravello is just 2 Km. away, and here you will find shops, bank and restaurants, etc... The nearest beach is Atrani (7 Km.) and the nearest tourist port, where you can board a boat to Capri, Positano, Sorrento, etc..., is Amalfi (8 Km.) as well as go on mini-cruises for tourists.
Ravello is a quiet village at an altitude of 350 m. above sea level. There are several places of interest worth visiting here: Villa Rufolo is a complex of constructions dating from the 13th and 14th centuries, although it was later renovated. The gardens are open to the public and the view from the terraces is breathtaking. During the summer classical concerts are held here.
Villa Cimbrone is worth visiting too. In 1904 the villa and its neglected estate were purchased by Ernest Beckett, who intended to turn it into "the most gorgeous place in the world". He managed that rather well.
If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well.
