Villa del Giarsole is located at the edge of this small village within other residential properties, on a gently sloping hill and yet only minutes from a supermarket, bank, 2 restaurants, 1 pizzeria etc. Villa del Girasole is only 4 kms from the mediaeval town of Cortona.
An independent villa set in attractively laid out gardens and with panoramic views. The large swimming pool (14 x 7 mts – depths 1.40 to 3.00 mts open from 01/05/11 to 15/10/11) has a nice solarium with deck chairs and sun beds and within the grounds is a well maintained tennis court (cemented ground painted green).
Very nicely furnished through in its spacious and cool rooms.

Accommodation:

Ground floor: Very large living/dining room with open fire and brick archways leading to a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, 4 gas hobs, electric oven and electric kettle and coffee percolator, toaster, microwave, large fridge with separate freezer). A games room with card table and billiard.
One double + 1 twin bedroom, large shower room.

First floor:

Can be reached by a spiral staircase from the living area OR from outside with normal steps where one finds a small kitchenette, 1 double bedroom with shower room en-suite, 1 twin bedroom and 1 single bedroom. Bathroom with bath tub and hand shower.

Location & Area

VILLA GIRASOLE is located in Arezzo Province, Tuscany, on the road to Cortona and almost halfway along to Lake Trasimeno. Cortona is only 6 Km. away with its wealth of shops, banks, chemists, Etruscan Museum and various important churches. From Villa Girasole, those who like hiking will be able to easily reach various hamlets and small villages that abound in this area. From the dock in Castiglion del lago (14 kms) you will be able to board boats (frequent services from April to October) that will take you to the various islands. If you are fond of archaeology, you must simply visit the Museo dell'Accademia Etrusca in central Cortona as this town was one of the 12 cities of the Etruscan confederation.

Check-in times between 3 pm. and 7 pm. Departure Time 10 a.m.
Breakage deposit is required in cash only upon arrival = Euro 200,00, and refunded on departure day provided no damages occur.

How to get there

There is no railway service from Pergo or from Cortona, the nearest railway station is Terentola (10 km) where there are frequent services going north towards Arezzo and Florence or going South towards Rome. Renting a car is absolutely necessary for local trips, but we strongly recommend using the train services to Florence as parking is hard to come by and expensive. It is possible to arrange private transfer to and from Perugia (56km) or Florence airport (120 km).
